What It Does

Extended Biped Beta adds a layer of proxy rig controls on top of the 3ds Max Biped, allowing for more advanced animation poses and adjustments.

Perfect for artists who want more control, without leaving the speed and structure of Biped.


Beta Features

  • One-click Proxy Rig Creation
    Instantly generate a full control rig from your existing Biped skeleton.
  • Skin Point System
    A proxy bone layer to which you can easily bind meshes for flexible deformation.
  • Adjust Controller Size
    Scale selected controllers or the entire rig globally.
  • Body IK Control (Requires Spine ≥ 3)
    Move the spine as a whole, ideal for bending, twisting, or "cat-back" animations.
  • Neck IK Control (Requires Neck ≥ 3)
    Enables smooth neck and head movement for expressive characters.
  • Copy Skin Weights (Arms & Legs only)
    Transfers weights from existing Biped bones to Skin Points for quick setup.

  • Bend Controllers (Joint-based curve bending)
    Adds more red rectangular controls for smooth elbow/knee deformations.
    Works best with Twist bones set to ≥2.
  • Wave Controls
    Allows for overlapping wave motion on limbs and spine.

    Add squash/stretch capability for more cartoony deformation.
  • Game Engine Export
    Automatically links Skin Points to Biped bones for clean FBX export.
